Osborne Appointments are recruiting for an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Transport Manager on a Permanent basis, for a well-established client in Radlett
Working hours: Working Monday to Fridays between the business hours 7am-7pm, but likely 8am-5pm (40 hours a week)
Salary: £40-£45,000 depending on experience
Location: Radlett
Responsibilities:
People:
- Lead and Manage direct Reports and contractors
- Ensure regular communication with managers to understand work in progress and planned future work
- Carry out disciplinary matters in line with company policies and procedures
- Monitor Staff time keeping, performance and productivity ensure any issues as resolved
- Manage staff holidays and availability to ensure work is covered
- Ensure Timesheets are returned singed.
Customer:
- To approach and resolve any customer issues arising with professionalism, and recorded when required
- To develop and increase business with existing customers
- To develop and increase business with new customers.
- To develop strong working relationships with clients, ensuring good working relations, and contract specific instructions handled and recorded in writing
- Ensure invoices are raised and completed on a weekly basis
Health and Safety and Legislation:
- Ensure all incidences of injury and damage investigated and action taken to ensure no re-occurrences
- Ensure near misses, incidents and incidents or accidents are reported and assist with investigations if required
- Monitor, review and assist in the compilation of risk assessments or method statements
- Ensure that all areas of transport legislation are compiled in particular records involving tachographs and maintenance.
Processes
- Ensure all legislative requirements are adhered to around maintenance, tachograph and licensing law and in accordance to company policy and procedures
- Ensure full driver debriefs are undertaken and all paperwork submitted completed correctly
- Ensure all work deliverables are accurate , on time and using correct reporting procedure
- Monitor PPE, tools equipment plant and procured services ensuring they are allocated correctly.
- Procurement up to the approved value
Skills:
- International CPS
- Good Knowledge of DSA requirements and maintenance of Tachograph legislation
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Ability to price and recourse jobs on adhoc basis
- LGV 1 Licence – Desirable
