I am currently looking for an experienced purchasing team manager to join a great team based in St Neots, this company is very secure in the market place being in the medical instrument manufacturing industry and there is scope for a progression.

The purpose of the purchasing team manager is to provide Leadership and drive of the Order Fulfilment function. Ensuring strong collaboration with suppliers to ensure we secure goods on time and deliver excellent order execution. Holding suppliers accountable for meeting commitments and working with them to improve. Coaching the Team to continuously improve

Responsibilities of the Purchasing manager include:

  • Lead the Team to ensure we have an excellent order fulfilment function. Coaching and developing the Team to meet the obligations at a minimum.
  • Hold team accountable to ensure all order confirmations are received within 48 hours and managing suppliers for date stability and managing to lead times or better.
  • Proactively manage risk and opportunity for revenue execution.
  • Work collaboratively with CPVH and other internal supply routes to maximise fulfilment and pursue improvement actions as needed.
  • Ensure poor performing suppliers are on review. Working with EMEA procurement to source alternate suppliers for those underperforming.
  • Manage price increase and product obsolence processes for all 3rd party suppliers with product managers. Ensure communication to critical stakeholders.
  • Work with Suppliers to maximise customer satisfaction and Antylia profitability.
  • Work with Applications Specialists, Customer Service and other key stakeholders when alternatives are needed or products need to be discontinued.
  • Create and manage KPIs to ensure function performs well and continuously improving. Expectation is dates are confirmed on orders within 48 hours, and dummy dates closed out within 14 days at the latest.

Skills required

  • Purchasing experience of 2 years or more.
  • Organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, being able to communicate at all levels.
  • Good standard in education
  • Intermediate IT skills on MS Office Suite
  • Strong excel skills and data analysis
  • Leadership and coaching skills
  • Proven ability to work flexibly and accurately and as part of a team.
  • Collaborative approach
  • Knowledge of  Microsoft Dynamics 360 business central and CRM is desirable but training will be provided.

Salary circa £40k, plus benefits
