Osborne Appointments are recruiting for a Purchasing Co-ordinator to join our client based in Welwyn Garden City.


If you’ve gained experience as a Purchasing Administrator/Assistant and want to take the next step up, this could be ideal for you! Training will be provided.

Main Duties:

  • Account Management & Ownership of suppliers, ensuring quality and performance in Sales, Cost and Delivery
  • Drive continuous improvement to increase turnover and reduce supply risk
  • Negotiate prices with supplier contracts, ensuring good rapport through regular meetings
  • Monitoring and maintaining adequate stock levels, forecasting stock, ordering stock and raising purchase orders.
  • Promote the introduction of new products
  • Ensure agreed supplier terms are utilised (i.e. minimum order quantities, bulk cost savings etc)
  • Work closely with goods in and accounts department to promptly resolve supplier delivery discrepancies
  • Continual maintenance of data for stock items, including prices, minimum order quantities, descriptions, product data sheets, product information sheets, packaging data and general product information
  • Notifications to customers of price increases using excel calculations to determine percentage increases, sales margin loss and system uploads
  • Review of KPI reports and other ad hoc reports, as required by the purchasing function

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in purchasing/procurement department, buying for stock
  • Analytical skills
  • Outstanding communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong IT Skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook & CRM systems
  • Numerical skills
  • Self-motivated to achieve targets
  • Results-orientated
