Are you an experienced Production Engineer?  Would  you like to work for a global company based in St Neots?

With a broad product range, we are a leading manufacturing and distribution company which supplies innovative water solutions into the industrial, residential and commercial markets.

The main purpose of this role is to provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on the most efficient and effective manufacturing processes to meet production requirements. In order to do this you will:

  • Produce test rigs and fixtures; both electrical and Pneumatic (Furness)

  • Arrange the provision of jigs, fixtures and all other equipment necessary for the assembly and test of products

  • Liaise between production, Quality and Engineering department’s teams.

  • Improve flow, efficiency and productivity of production line.

  • Assess handling of material work flow, following health and safety and risk analysis guidelines.

  • Be proficient in working a machine shop lathe, milling machine and drilling machine for small production items and development of new jigging.

  • Maintain existing production facilities and provide support for site maintenance.

  • Recommend manufacturing line improvements to ensure that they meet production standards and customer requirements.

  • Review the manufacturing process and cost implications of proposed new products.

  • Recommend any necessary changes to manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness and product quality.

  • Maintain an awareness of developments in the field of production engineering to ensure that the company continues to apply the most effective processes and equipment.

  • Follow the Company’s and Group’s internal and external procedures

  • Carry out any such other duties that may be reasonably requested of you.

Ideally you will hold a City & Guilds in Engineering or equivalent, and have experience in lean manufacturing/six sigma/5s/kaizen processes.

  • Have a Sound Electrical/mechanical Engineering background

  • Be able to work on own initiative

  • Work flow handling risk assessment

  • Good communication & problem solving skills.

  • Be able to communicate on all levels.

  • Supervise and arrange site services

  • Working as part of a Lean Sigma team

  • Improve Production line, flow, efficiency and productivity
